About CLEAR Dog Training

Since 2001, CLEAR Dog Training has been helping Brisbane dog owners build calmer, happier relationships with their dogs.

Rather than expecting dogs to behave perfectly in a classroom, we focus on building skills where they matter most – at home, on walks and in the places owners visit every day.

Once those foundation skills are established, we gradually put them to the test in real-world environments, giving owners the confidence to enjoy life with their dogs wherever they go.

CLEAR Dog Training specialises in one-on-one home visits because that’s where both dogs and their owners learn best – in the peace and quiet of their own home, without unnecessary distractions.

Training where it matters most

Caroline assumed ownership of CLEAR Dog Training in 2016 after founder Oliver Beverly retired. She continues to build on the calm, practical philosophy that has helped thousands of dogs and their owners over the past 25 years.

Today, CLEAR Dog Training remains committed to helping owners understand their dogs, solve behaviour problems with kindness and consistency, and enjoy life together.

Every lesson reflects the same principles that have guided CLEAR Dog Training for 25 years: clear communication, consistency and kindness. Whether working with a new puppy, an adolescent dog or an older companion, the goal is always the same – to build a confident dog and an owner who understands exactly how to bring out the best in them.

A lifetime of excellence

Caroline’s involvement with animals stretches back to childhood through a lifelong passion for horses and equestrian sport.

As a young rider, she excelled in training and working with animals, eventually becoming a qualified British Horse Society riding instructor and competing successfully at international level in Great Britain and Ireland. She also completed a double clear round at the famous Burghley Horse Trials, albeit with a few time faults in the cross-country phase.

Alongside her practical experience, Caroline completed a Bachelor of Arts degree and also studied Sports Studies in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Sport. This provided a strong grounding in sports psychology, motivation and the science of learning – principles that continue to influence her training today.

Working closely with horses from a young age, combined with her academic background, helped develop many of the skills she still relies on today: timing, consistency, reading behaviour and understanding how people and animals learn.

From horses to dog sports

Although horses were Caroline’s first passion, her competitive focus eventually shifted to dogs.

Today, she competes successfully with her own Border Collies in rally, obedience, agility, tricks and flyball. Over the years, she has won dozens of state and national titles across a range of dog sports.

In rally alone, Caroline has achieved more than 100 perfect scores with three different dogs – an achievement that reflects years of consistent training, teamwork and attention to detail.

Caroline’s latest challenge is campaigning her much-loved young Border Collie, Lockie, in agility.

Despite not being able to run as she once could, the partnership has enjoyed an outstanding start, with Lockie winning three firsts, two seconds and a third at his first two serious competition outings.

Always learning

Caroline also holds a Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training from the National Dog Trainers Federation. She regularly attends seminars and clinics presented by leading Australian and international trainers, and continues her professional development through online courses with some of the world’s leading dog trainers.

This ongoing commitment to learning helps ensure CLEAR Dog Training continues to reflect current best practice, benefiting both Caroline’s own competition dogs and the clients she works with every day.

Training and competing at a high level allows Caroline to continually refine her skills and stay up to date with modern, evidence-based, reward-based training methods.

Whether owners are raising a new puppy, working through behavioural challenges or enjoying dog sports with their own dog, Caroline brings that same thoughtful, practical approach to every lesson.

Caroline gets great satisfaction from helping people build happier relationships with their dogs.

Training for the real world

Every dog and every family is different, which is why there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to training. Every lesson is tailored to the individual dog, the owner’s goals and their lifestyle.

Practical solutions, clear communication and achievable training plans help owners build confidence while creating a calmer, happier relationship with their dog.

The aim isn’t just to teach dogs new behaviours – it’s to give owners the confidence and practical skills to continue the training long after the session has finished.

After all, the goal isn’t simply a well-trained dog. It’s a lifetime of understanding, confidence and enjoyment for both dogs and their owners.
