Every lesson is based on a philosophy of clear communication, consistency and kindness.
The CLEAR philosophy
CLEAR Dog Training uses modern positive reinforcement methods combined with calm, practical household management. The philosophy remains simple: reward the behaviours you want to see more of, while calmly managing the behaviours you don’t.
That combination helps owners build calmer, happier relationships with dogs that are easier and more enjoyable to live with.
Helping owners grow in confidence
Caroline finds helping owners through day-to-day challenges incredibly rewarding, particularly seeing the moment when training starts becoming fun rather than frustrating.
Her aim isn’t simply to teach dogs. It’s to help owners understand why training works, giving them the confidence to continue long after the lessons have finished.
Understanding how people learn
Caroline believes successful dog training is just as much about teaching people as it is about teaching dogs.
She is a qualified horse riding instructor who taught riders for many years before moving into professional dog training. She has also studied sports psychology through the University of Canberra in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Sport.
That background has given her a strong understanding of how people learn new skills, build confidence and overcome frustration—an approach she now brings to every CLEAR training session.
Real-life training for real-life dogs
Learning new skills can sometimes feel overwhelming, both for dogs and their owners.
That’s why CLEAR places such a strong emphasis on making training practical, achievable and enjoyable, using techniques that work in everyday life rather than just during training sessions.
Where appropriate, training games are also designed to involve children and help the whole family become part of the dog’s learning journey.
Always learning
Caroline holds a Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training through the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) and continues to regularly attend seminars and courses with leading trainers and behaviour specialists from around the world.
The goal is simple: to continually refine and improve CLEAR’s training methods using modern, reward-based techniques that work in real-life situations.
